Hi, I have a bit of a situation here. My Pablo yearling filly had something happen to her, I dont know if she colic'd slightly or if she had a virus however she laid down when we had -30 to -35 temperatures. We found her like that and her eyes were all cloudy, We brought her in from the pasture and put her in the barn and all 4 of her legs swolled up like telephone poles and have stayed that way for about 1 1/2 weeks She is now doing better, she has frostbite on her face (lost some hair and the skin has turned black there). One of her legs broke open yesterday and she was ozzing an orangish colored fluid out (and lots of it) Since then I have wrapped her legs and all 4 legs are starting to return to their original size. The hair does not seem to be falling out which is a good sign but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with frostbite and if you can give me any suggestions or expectations. Do you think she may loose...

While at the Dutch meeting I picked up a Nijhof brochure. To my pleasent surprise, they now have a distributer in virginia. One of my boarders with a jumper mare, asked me to check things out for her. It seems that this year they are keeping the Dollar and Euro price the same. That is a relief, it is such a pain keeping up with the daily exchange rate. I am told that there is a live foal gaurantee for up to two years. I think that i will have to rethink some of my stallion choices!

You might know that I have a long time vested interested in Wynton - I have known him since he was a yearling, and he is full brother to my mare, Tamarinde. I am always interested in his performance, and am thrilled to see that he is out there in real competition, winning as usual. He has been showing "ZZ Licht", which is about our Prix St. Georges! And he wins every time! This competition was in Ermelo, the KNHS Indoorkampioenschappen.
He had a final overall score of 70.97%
He also won the KWPN stallion Championships again this year. I think it's nice to see a young stallion actually coming along in the real world of...
