About Maybach's sire: While being shown under the names Silver Lining, Landwerder, and Liszt, Silver Lining competed very successfully in sport and was the Reserve Champion of the International Jumper Futurity finals. Silver Lining had a successful start in the jumper ring under Rob Gage and Francie Steinwedell before migrating to the dressage ring in 1995. He began his dressage career with Charlotte Bredahl Baker and then, ridden by Katherine Bateson Chandler, he mastered the Grand Prix movements showing with scores to 65.897% at Intermediare I. In 2006, Silver Creek Farms reintroduced Silver Lining to the hunter/jumper ring where he was Reserve Champion of his division. Silver Lining comes from proven lineage sired by the top producer, Landadel, and out of the fourfold stallion producing dam and elite mare, Fureida II, who descends from the famous Heida line. Fureida II is of the successful Gotthard / Furioso II cross which also produced Voltaire. She is the dam of the approved stallion, Coulthard, and the mare, Heideglück, who produced the approved stallion, Incello. Silver Lining's older full brother, Laertes, was successfully competed in the international jumping ring. Another full brother, Lagoheidor, was both Champion of the Oldenburger stallion selections in 1994 and won the performance test in Medingen in 1995. He now competes Grand Prix dressage. A third full brother, Landor S, won the Bundeschampionat in 1997 and was chosen to be the Oldenburger Jumping Stallion of the Year. He followed this up with many big wins including Reserve Landeskampion, Reserve Weser-Ems Champion in 1999, and winner of the Volvo Cup 'S' jumping competition in Elmlohe. Landor S is the sire of 6 'Briljant' show mares, many Champion mares and stallions, more than 20 approved sons, and has had many offspring qualify for the Bundeschampionat. Silver Lining was bred by Gerd Sosath. Budweiser has a performance pedigree with the 5 top European stallions in a row; Burggraaf keur, Voltaire keur pref, Ahorn Z (v. Alme), Landgraf I, and Roman. Sire Burggraaf and damsire Voltaire are the two most popular stallions for showjumper breeders in the Netherlands. Both stallions obtained high rankings in the World Breeding rankings and produce Grand Prix winners consistently. Burggraaffs Jumping Index is at 168 with a reliability of 92% and Voltaire's Jumping Index is 161 with a reliability of 94% . For sporthorse breeding the combination of Burggraaf and Voltaire has proven to be an excellent combination.
