I know that true black TB's male OR female are pretty hard to come by! and I should have said neutral gender! But since I have always wanted a true black TB mare of quality, that's what I wrote LOL! I'm making some new track friends hopefully...and while right now I don't NEED nymore horses....The slots open for a black TB mare of quality....so maybe something will turn up there...although my lucky...the black TB mares will be huge race hits too LOL!!

But - mine needs to have 4 high stockings and a white face, be over 16hh, nice mover, nice conformation, breeding quality, papers, under 10 years of age. Been looking for ... oh ... about 2-3 years now and I am sure ONE day I will find what I am looking for, but I figure by then I will probably be old and crotchety and will have hung up my breeding gear by then ... :) The funny thing is that I have EXACTLY what I am looking for sitting in my own barn right now - she's a genetically proven smoky black (the single dilute of the black gene), with 4 whites, white face and body white but as she is a homebred and my stallion is her sire, I need to look at outside breedings for her. So - I am looking for something that looks like her, unrelated to my stallion, that I can use to try and produce MORE smoky black sabino offspring Let me tell you ... THAT is no easy feat at all!!! Posts: 40 10/11/10 20:20:30	There is a nice true black tb mare for sale up here in Alberta. She is part of a herd dispersal and will likely go cheap . Nice sporty conformation (at least from the one photo) but smallish around 15.2 or 3 and she is in her early teens. Interested?

Posts: 66 11/09/10 17:00:57	Hello! I must admit that I have only ever known true black TB geldings personally, but I do love those dark colored gals and have had many a 'black bay' warmblood mare. I do have a true black (sire is homozygous black and dam was chestnut and she is the 'real thing') Hanoverian filly who has a good bit of TB in her pedigree. She has two matching hind tall socks behind and an interesting jagged drizzle of white on her face. I have considered selling her but have not advertised extensively as she has the size, substance, versatility (both her dam and her dam's sister have had multiple wins in dressage and hunters) and especially disposition I adore. I do own her sister, mom and aunt now, though, so have to 'triage.' If you any interest in a black WB mare I would entertain a great home for her. I am not certain how to post photos here but I have tons from birth to present (seven months). She is SO easy to work with and would be a lovely cross with quality TB's with her lineage. Good luck in your search! I have had every color to date except black before now and loved them all, but it has been fun having something unique in the barn!!

She has TB/Trakahner on the bottom side and Radjah Z/ G Ramiro Z ( Oldenburg) on the top. She has been a late bloomer and is going to be started under saddle this winter weather permitting.
